Thirteen-lined Ground Squirrel
(Not Adopted)

Unique dark brown stripes above, with buffy spots within them. This ground squirrel originally lived in the shortgrass prairies from Alberta to Texas, but with the clearing of forests has spread eastward to Ohio and Michigan. It is often seen feeding on seeds and insects along roadsides and on lawns and golf courses.
