Wolverine
(Not Adopted)

The largest member of the weasel family, found in the forests and tundra of northern and western Canada, Alaska, and in a few places in the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada. It weighs up to 60 pounds and looks like a small bear with a heavy, bushy tail. It has dark brown fur except for the yellowish temples and broad yellow stripes running from each shoulder to the base of the tail. This powerful and ferocious hunter preys on beavers, deer, porcupines, birds, and squirrels. It can kill prey as large as a moose or elk when the prey is bogged down in deep snow. A wolverine drive bears and cougars from their kills and has reputation for robbing traps and food caches of trappers. It marks any surplus supply of food with a smelly scent called musk, which repels other animals.
