Four Spot Skimmer Dragonfly
(Adopted 1995)

Common Skimmers are the dragonflies you are most likely to see around ponds and marshes. Many are brightly colored red, yellow, or green, as well as pastel blue and gray. The wings of many are marked with black and white or tinted yellow or orange. You may see pairs flying together in preparation for mating or egg laying, with the male holding the female by the neck and leading her around.
